Thank you!
I just wanted to say thank you to the few people who did stop by and decided to start following my blog. It just came to me one day that I should start this blog, even if no one ever read it, because A. I love to read, B. I love to write, and C. Everyone always asks me what they should read next since I'm obsessed with reading. So for whoever is reading my nonsense, THANK YOU!!!
Mortal Obligation by Nichole Chase
Finally! So, remember I said that I had those three books waiting on my Kindle? I broke down and read one last night. It was Mortal Obligation by Nichole Chase. God, what was I doing ignoring this masterpiece? This is such a great story! I could not put it down! This is a whole new take on vampires. The story starts with Ree, a seemingly normal girl, who has lost her brother in a tragic accident. She and her family are trying to pick up the pieces while she quietly pines for her brother's best friend, Paden. Paden's last promise to Ree's brother was to look out for his little sister, but he had no idea how literal that promise was going to become. Ree is chosen to save the world in an epic good vs. evil battle and will need all her friends help doing it. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone, but please, pretty please, read the book. This is the first in a trilogy, the second book is due out next month (Thank God!) because I am so sad that it ended! It is available on ebook format for .99 cents so you have no excuse not to read it!

Breaking Dawn!!!!
Ok, so is anyone else a Twilight fan? My love for paranormal romance began with Twilight. When Breaking Dawn ended, I was left wanting so much more. Sadly, Stephenie Meyer didn't see things my way, so I had to set out on my adventure to find more books like her series. I have to say that I am super excited to see Breaking Dawn. I rarely like movies as well as the books. Although I didn't really care for the Twilight movie, they did get better with each film. Maybe increasing the budget and changing directors helped? I thought that Edward looked like the Road Runner when he ran in the first movie, utterly ridiculous! I actually left the theater half way through the movie. I'm really glad I gave New Moon a second chance because I definitely didn't want to miss out on Jacob! Yum! So, are you going to the movie? If so, ladies or gentlemen, are you taking your significant other with you? I actually have a "date" with a friend to spare my husband the "punishment". :)
Bleck!
Ok, so has anyone ever went through a book drought? You know that time and place where you feel that you have read every single good book written, and the new ones you read are just recycled versions of those old books? That is where I am at. I can't find anything to get into right now. I have three books patiently waiting on my Kindle but they all have that "been there, done that" feel to it. Anyone else have that feeling? Any great book recommendations for a true addict? Help a sister out here!

Ethereal by Addison Moore
Addison Moore proves that the self published indie authors often write the best books. This series had me hooked on the first chapter. If you love hot love triangles, bad boys and angels then this book is for you. Skyla Messenger is a normal teenage girl. She is grieving the loss of her father and hating her new step-father. The family picks up and moves from California to an island that rains contstantly. Skyla immediately begins hearing about the death of the girl who lived in her town right before she moved there named Chloe. Chloe was the queen bitch and had both of Skyla's love interests wrapped around her little finger. The story develops and we find that things are not what they seem and Skyla is no ordinary girl. In fact, no one on this island is. A MUST READ.
Wither by Lauren Destefano
I have to tell you in advanced that this is one of my all time favorite books. I don't usually like dystopian novels, but this one really changed my point of view. I loved Ryhne's character. She was surviving in a world where the men only live to be twenty five and the women only lived to be twenty. The world's constant desire to cure every disease lead to an anonmaly that caused all the children to be born without any diseases or abnormalities. The only problem was that none of them survived past this expiration date. Desperate to find a cure, many of the "first generations" or the older people who started these experiments started kidnapping young women and forcing them into marriages with their young sons. That was their best fate. The worst fate is that the young girls are sold into prostitution or murdered. This story is a must read. It is haunting and beautiful. It is a story of courage, strength and a testament of what mankind is capable of, both the good and the bad. I absolutely cannot wait until February 2012 to read the next book! Five out of five stars!
Daughters of Saraqael by Raine Thomas
Daughters of Saraqael is definitely something different. Not your typical vampire books that are flooding the market these days. In this series we have three sisters who are born across the world from each other, knowing nothing of the others existence. The story takes us through many universes, love triangles, and heart wrenching moments. This series is a must read! There are three books in the series, Becoming, Central and Foretold. After reading the author's website I found that she is also writing another trilogy spin off series due out next year.
Demon Kissed by H.M. Ward
Ok, so I wasn't really sure before I started reading this series if I was going to love it. It continued to pop up as a recommendation on my kindle, so I bought it. Let me just say that I am so glad that I did. The story didn't develop over time. You are dropped smack in the middle of a dramatic scene of Ivy receiving a "demon kiss". The series is about demons who steal souls by kissing innocent victims and drawing out their souls. They feed off of their life force. To counter them, angels have created humans with supernatural powers called the Martis. The Martis are basically kick ass soldiers for Heaven. Ivy was near death and was saved by a mystery man. Suddenly she is thrown into a world she never knew existed and wanted no part of. Can Ivy help save the impending Apocalypse? You just have to read it to find out! :) I give this book four stars.
Love is Darkness by Caroline Hanson
Love is Darkness is not your typical "Twilight" knockoff! This is for the mom's who loved Twilight but were left wanting that intimate edge. I loved Val's character. She is flawed, funny and like so many of us girls, conflicted in her emotions. The book starts out with Valerie living an atypical life of a vampire hunter. A life that she didn't choose, nor does she want any part of. Her father is consumed with guilt after Valerie's mom is killed by a vampire and sets out on a mission to destroy all vampires. Along the way, they pick up Jack. He was also orphaned thanks to the good ole vamps so they have a common mission. During one of these missions, Val meets Lucas, who changes her view on everything she has been taught about vampires and leads to some steamy lusting. I don't want to give too much of the story away, but let's just say that this story was definitely worth the read! I am anxiously awaiting the next book, due out in December, so please, check it out!
